$2500/month RV sites in Bend, Oregon. Laid off. Why not Duluth? Geographic centers, mid-west tornadoes, diy 5th wheel RV tire fixings.
Living
Remember that time the pandemic wasn’t letting up back in June 2020? Mom, pops, Sunny, and Austin in Bend, Oregon. Kesley robbed of her graduation, living in Leadville, Colorado… currently road tripping the Northeast with “that Todd“.
Your folks started the month at the fancy RV Park off Brosterhous Rd, Crown Villa RV resort. Rumor has it this place was built to showcase high end Beaver Motorcoaches that were built nearby. It’s a really nice park with huge sites, tall trees, and fantastic community centers. It’s expensive, like Bend.
It’s going from $900/month to $2500/month ‘if‘ they can find a monthly site. $300-$400/month is pretty normal across the country. We’re looking around.
RV/tiny house living remains primarily without legal rights to live in an RV in the USA, though many do. It’s primarily why Tiny Houses aren’t working. Leases and purchases for RV sites are generally not available, and questionably enforceable. Zoning and regulation prohibitively restrict most abilities to use RV’s as a residence. Moving a lot is the only thing that makes living on wheels make any sense to us, and we move a lot.
Hey Sunny, remember when your roommate got Covid and sucked at keeping you safe? Your lovely and janky heart earned you that old trailer, and we got to be neighbors. That was cool.

Lots of yard hangouts, quarantining from each other as well. You taught me about the free cappuccino machine in the community room. Thanks.
Austin’s been roommating in Bend, freelancing your photography and video stuff. Kesley finishing up her college at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, Colorado. Robbed of the graduation experience. Sorry.
Working
March 2020, pops laid off from that hospital remodel job in Bend, Oregon as the lockdown happened. The construction company goes from 15 employees to around 5. So we live off savings.
Austin works magic, adding a day job with your freelancing – marketing for a kick ass company that hired you for your photo/video skills. You’re such a rockstar.
Kes was working in and out of the restaurants and bars as they tried to figure out pandemic stuff. Your hoarder granny tendencies paid off, so you road tripped east. Well done.
Sunny left the child care center for pandemic reasons and scrambled and hustled like the beast she is. We’re proud of you girl.
You’re all homeschool freaks and we wouldn’t want it either way.
Remember that time we moved to La Pine, about 30 minutes south of Bend so we couldn’t see you anymore, ever? Yeah. Paid $800/month for this cramped parking spot. We parked on the highway, our neighbor decided to park in between us.

Trying to make the best of it, we helped Sunny move in down the way. Plus, $2500/mo for the Bend RV park seemed excessive.

Remember your trucker friends, Peaches and Kim? I wish we had a picture.
Before we left you with Peaches and Kim, we really enjoyed helping fix up your new home.

Learning
What’d we learn this month kids? Freedom trumps masks. Jobs over health. Politics beat relationships. bummer.
